Phase 1 of our Biodiversity Project was implemented in 2008 with the erection of two coloured display boards showing aerial photographs identifying some of the resident and the migratory species of wildlife in the area. The financial consideration (€4,000) was met by the Heritage Council of Ireland and Doonbeg Community Development Ltd.
Due to conditions outside our control, we were advised by Teagasc Management that Phase 2 of our biodiversity project should be deferred until June 2010. During the intervening period payments have been made by the Rural Environmental Protection Scheme authorities for the purpose of preserving the Corcach /Corcass area as a biodiversity habitat.

Now it is time to revisit this very important resource, to address some of the problems encountered in 2008 and endeavor to seek satisfactory terms for all concerned. Our aim is to have this important sanctuary suitably developed and appropriately promoted as a recognised first class Biodiversity habitat.
