In December 2009, working in conjunction with Failte Ireland and Shannon Development we completed two Loop Walks in the area. The Doonbeg Loop is 8km and the Tullaher Loop is 20km portion of which is through peat bogs which have been designated as a Special Area of Conservation.
We are currently in the process of negotiating and hopefully developing another walk of a more spectacular nature. In this instance the walk would incorporate seascape and costal which we are very anxious to develop. This proposed “Coastal Walk” will have to be driven and financed by Doonbeg Community Development Ltd. which was not the case with the former walks, though we had to contribute a financial percentage of the cost.
